Decoy Drones
« on: May 10, 2018, 02:03:09 PM »

Measuring a meter long looking much like a tactical bomb, some 200mm in diameter, the Decoy drone is a weapon created by the science team at the SGC in 2010. Its aim is to fool the enemy into thinking that there are more coming at them than their eyes might perceive. They mimic the energy signature of the ship they have been launched from, locking onto the enemy at very close range; for example a Death Glider may think he is being pursued by as many enemy craft as a 401 might launch at him, giving the Tauri ship a chance to either escape or put themselves in a better position to bring about their own attack.

Powered by a miniaturized naquada generator, the Drone will effectively 'chase' the enemy for up to three hours, or at the whim of the pilot from the launch craft, set to explode close to the enemy ship. Cases have been recorded whereby several drones were targeted at Death Gliders with those craft returning to their mother ship in haste, only to have the Drones explode within the mother ship. The force of the explosion is equivalent to that used on Hiroshima in 1945.

Life is a dream — that knows no shade.
Life is a dream — of pain and woe.
A dream from which — we pray to wake.
A dream from which — we wake and go
