Title: If a new Stargate franchise was created
Post by: Ellen_Ripley on July 16, 2018, 11:33:13 AM
Like many others I have often been curious to know what any (if) Stargate television series came to us what we might envision. One of my first questions would be characters. Which characters across the entire series from any franchise within Stargate would you like to see make a new appearance?

My preferences are.

Cassandra Fraiser
Jack clone
Wraith Todd
Laura Cadman
Jennifer Hailey

I always thought the new SG1 should be MiniJack, Jennifer Hailey, Rya’c, Cassandra, and a returned from the big aliens and convieniently de-aged Nicholas Ballard (Daniel’s grandfather).

Hailey is in command, but MiniJack is quick to voice his own opinions because of his “experience”.

Convenient theories postulate that a new series would be called Stargate Command with maybe merging all three franchises somehow together in one story. If say the year of release could be 2020, then I'd love to see Cam Mitchell back as General, CO of the SGC.

I like clone!Jack and Jennifer Hailey and Cassandra on a team. Maybe that one Hak'tyl girl who kinda had a crush on Daniel to round out the Jaffa contingent.

I think Cam Mitchell as the commander of the SGC would be awesome.

Asgard
Baal
Todd
miniJack
Felger
Coombs
I enjoyed seeing all of these characters and would not be adverse to seeing them again along with the old charries

Yes I forgot poor old Jay Felger, that man got to me as he reminded me so much of a bumbling but quite smart man I married forty years ago :)

Yeh Felger would be great.
Would want carter to be in charge of the SGC.
Bratac and Tealc can bring in some new Jaffa trainees and one joins the SGC with their blessing. I would say new characters would be preferred but perhaps hailey could be at the SGC yeah.

The Goa’uld will return to destroy the Earth.

They're gone, dead, I highly doubt any real chance of Stargate returning would be re-hashing old enemies.

Zelenka, Felger, Coombs, & Bill Lee for definite, probably working somewhere they have regular contact with McKay, because it's fun to watch McKay squirm with annoyance.

I just love these theoretical, hypothetical postulations :D

I think in the big scheme of things McKay would still be around, whether at Atlantis or the SGC wouldn't matter as he is fun to have around as is Radek. Going on what I said earlier about Cam being uno numero at the SGC, I can imagine if Sam stayed in the service she'd be a 2 star by 2020 as would be Cam. Most likely she'd be head of Homeworld Security

It’d be nice to have some civilian life romance scenes between jack and carter, maybe out at dinner. Having old enemies pop up should be a good thing though.

Sure, if they'd finally let Jack retire.
Title: Re: If a new Stargate franchise was created

Technically he'd be forced to retire; Jack's age was mirrored by RDA'a own age and thus by 2020 he'd be 70. Unless Air Force changed their policy, 65 is still the cut off age. Sadly.

Right, of course - if we're talking RPG, they could pick up right after a specific season. A TV show, not so much- considering the age of the cast. RDA will be 70 on Jan 23.

Stargate will forever go down as one of the best shows ever made. That’s how it’s done.

There is much for you to see then @MzArchivist . Our current game is set in 2011 of which we are now in a TVesque season 13. Jack is very happily still with us.

Now if only the powers that be at MGM could act on that sentiment.

Would if I could. Joining another fan site and conversing with others is one thing. I can't, and I'm sure folks here with agree or at least understand this. I can't justify participating in another RPG site's game while my own are sadly lacking; or is that slacking?

Yes it will, and many fans think that those powers that be should give us that movie showing the gate going public on Earth. And thus close the SG-1 scenario.

I think Mzarchivist's  idea of Zelenka Felger Coombs etc, working together is a great idea, what a great team, also love the idea of Cam being commander of SGC, perfect job for him, I know the Asgard are dead but the Pasgard are alive, so they would present a challenge.

As for Atlantis, i know it is on Earth and they probably do not want it to leave, that much power, they would never agree to it, so i thought it might be fun if the old crew worked with a new crew and stole the bugger :P

Right, get it back to Pegasus as it is probably the best instrument against the wraith.
And don't forget the zats, wraith may be difficult to kill but I don't see them surviving that 3rd shot.

Good idea, I would love to see a story where they did that.    Wouldn't a grenade launcher also do the job?

Wouldn't mind seeing John Billingsley back in a SciFi Franchise.

John Billingsley was good as Coombs. They didn't explore his character enough. It'd be cool to show him again. I feel like he was underrated and they just showed him in a couple episodes and then just threw him away.

Coombs on Atlantis ?

I'm trying to imagine what Sheppard would use instead of a lemon on Felger. Coombs was okay as a geek, he didn't though seem to have that child like wonder of all things that Jay did.

Is Felger allergic to cheese? I know an allergy to cheese is no laughing matter, but I was thinking dangle a crumble of feta cheese and Felger would have a fit about how having cheese would kill him...  >(

He isnt really though  :mwahaha

Did I hear there is a reunion planned for a new series? Is it confirmed or is it just yet another false story running on the net?

We need a Dreadnaught based Stargate series unlike Stargate Universe. That ship would explore the galaxies between Earth and New Atlantis while discovering new planets and new threats.

So, Stargate Strange New Worlds?

  :lol :sam59

I've often thought along similar lines, a show based around the fleet with new ships. The main ship, whichever it might be, would have its own Stargate like Destiny. That way it keeps the theme well within the focus of the franchise.

Exactly along the lines   :sam37  All we need is a Commander with the personality of Captain Pike or Anson Mount taking the helm after he finishes the Star Trek Series.

The updated version of Star Trek? Star Trek 2.0? I approve tho  :mwahaha
